Description
Coated VICRYL™ Plus Antibacterial Suture, violet braided, size 0, 27", with CT-2 needle, is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. It is coated with a combination of polyglactin 370, calcium stearate, and the antibacterial agent triclosan (Irgacare® MP), which imparts antimicrobial protection along the suture line.
The CT-2 needle is a taper point design with a 1/2 circle curvature, suitable for soft, easily penetrable tissues. Its stainless steel construction provides durability and smooth tissue passage during placement. The violet color of the suture enhances visibility against tissue, supporting precision in handling.
This suture is intended for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, excluding cardiovascular and neurological tissues. Absorption occurs through hydrolysis, with a predictable absorption period, while retaining sufficient tensile strength during the initial wound healing phase. It is widely used in gynecological, urological, and general surgical procedures.
